Shannen Doherty starred in only four seasons of the film. She played Brenda Walsh, the twin sister of Brandon. The actress admitted that she was fired because she could not pay proper attention to the filming process at that time.
“I had a really terrible marriage, I had things going on in it that made it really hard for me to get to work on time. And I know that became a really big problem for everybody,” she revealed in a conversation with colleague Jason Priestley. As Us Weekly notes, she was married to Ashley Hamilton at the time.
She also admitted to feeling some resentment towards the show’s creators. “It wasn’t anybody’s responsibility but mine. But I certainly wish they had talked to me and looked at me and said, ‘Look, what we’re going to end up with is this: you’re going to get fired because none of us want to put up with this anymore.’ And I understand that you have problems in your personal life, but they can’t affect work, you have to get a grip too,'” she said.” At the end, the Hollywood actress added: “I take responsibility, I don’t blame anyone. It’s my problem.”
